You may have seen the posters around the Quantocks and neighbouring villages about Sophie, the elderly spaniel who was lost on Cothelstone Hill. Her owners are asking everyone to keep an eye out for her and sent this to me:
Sophie was sighted (from the A358) on the railway track on Tuesday evening (27.9.17), heading towards Bishops Lydeard from Combe Florey. We had hoped she was still near Combe Florey after the sightings and barking. This has now confirmed she’s still there to make safe. She could be roaming within a few miles daily so eyes out all directions please.
Please, please, if you see her and you can’t ‘shut her in’ or offer her food DON’T approach her. We need her calm and in area. She hasn’t approached anyone in 40 days so please don’t be the hero. If she’s close drop down to the floor and see if she wants to approach you.
We feel a food trap is our best and safest way to catch her.
Please call in any location sightings as soon as you can. It may have an influence on where the trap is set.
